Dog training
Barnaby and Laura are attending doggy school. The classes we go to are part of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme .
They are currently doing the Bronze level (PDF) at Laleham Dog Training Club.
Barnaby isn't doing too badly, considering how rubbish his human is at remembering it all. When we had to walk to heel all round the hall then go through a gate, all with no voice commands AND off lead, he was perfect. Maybe he should just do the exam himself, without Laura.
The mock exam was last Monday and Barnaby was brilliant. The real thing is this coming Monday. Cross your fingers and paws!

All healed up
After what seemed like an age, Barnaby's wound finally healed and we ditched the horrible cone.
The first time he was allowed off lead at the dog park he bounced about like Tigger on a summer day.
He's been back to being a lock keeper though, even though the rain was more suited to the ducks than dogs or people.
He still seems to think he's a lap dog, despite weighing in at around 35kg. He loves to sit on Laura's lap and be cuddled!
Ain't he handsome though?

Bored dog has destroyed the Cone of Shame
So he's been sporting a rather fetching blue shirt with lovely pink K-tape to keep it from dragging on the floor!
And then we found a sign that said 'no dogs allowed'!!
That didn't stop him either though, we found another way to go.

The human has been feeling rather down today after the death of one of her favourite singers.

Oh no
Poor Barnaby got caught up in a tangle of leads and dogs and ended up having to get six stitches in his front leg.
So we have two weeks of The Cone.
😟
Even at night, though it doesn't stop him hogging the bed!

100 days of Barnaby
Can you believe it? 100 days since this lump of love came home.
There are still a few odd things to iron out; like what he should be eating, why he barks at bedtime, eating poop 😖 😵 😷 and why he doesn't like bicycles.
But all in all, he a charmer who would rather sit on Laura's arm as she types up the blog than cause trouble. Everyone he meets thinks he's great, with his lop sided ears and his chilled out attitude.
One friend says "Barnaby looks at Laura like she's a movie star"!!
The last couple of weeks have been rather quiet as the human managed to take a spill down the stairs at home and sprained her ankle. Luckily the dog park is a short drive away, with seats, so Laura could sit and watch as Barnaby played with other dogs or mooched around sniffing things.
Hopefully things are almost back to normal and the next 100 days will be even more fun.

Party in the dog park
The people* who use the dog park decided to have an easter party.
We lost count of how many dogs there were.
But everyone was very well behaved and we had a lovely time.
